Product Manager

Description of Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a young company and work on ambitious and challenging projects in a smart, world-class team.

In this position you will be responsible for Product & Consumer development and working closely with the CEO, the Product Owner.

Key Areas, Tasks and Responsibilities of the Role

Consumer (Customer) Development

  • Investigate, research and validate consumer needs and painpoints
  • Facilitate consumers feedback
  • Organise Focus groups with consumers to identify their needs and painpoints

Product Development

  • Specify product requirements to fulfil clearly defined consumer requirements
  • Work closely with the engineering team to validate the ability to develop the right product
  • Develop and implements methods and procedures for monitoring product projects – research findings, progress reports, expenditures, etc. in order to inform management of the current status of each project 



Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of five years in product development of complex SW products with HW component or similar, candidates with experience in the smart home market will be advantaged; must have an understanding of manufacturing, SW release management

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and suggest next steps

  • Process orientation  demonstrated ability to develop repeatable processes or improve existing processes in and out of product development

  • Open and collaborative style – must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged
  • Energy and enthusiasm – candidates must enjoy being accountable and willing to hold others accountable
  • Outgoing personality – you will be required to walk into networking events and be comfortable introducing yourself to strangers
  • Interest in our industry – Consumer Tech
  • Willingness to work around the clock – being a Consumer Experience Lead isn’t a 9-5 job. Working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hours will be required.
  • Good employee –great time management skills, ability to multitask, intelligence etc. – since you will be managing many different areas of the business. Looking for someone smart who doesn’t get stressed under pressure
  • Culture fit – this especially applies for us as a small company. You need to get along with others and mesh with the company’s culture
  • Ability to travel within the United States
